X-rays
An x-ray is a diagnostic procedure for foot and ankle problems involving bones and joints.
This pain-free procedure may be used for initial diagnosis, a post-treatment status review, or a post-surgery status review.
![]() At left, Dr. Schifalacqua is reading x-rays of a patient's foot. But how complicated was the procedure for taking those x-rays? For a patient who is ambulatory, the x-ray process is very simple, because the patient only has to stand on a platform in the x-ray room. Several different poses, such as those shown below, provide different views of the patient's problem area. For a patient who is not ambulatory, our staff will take whatever time and care is necessary to comfortably situate the patient so that necessary x-rays can be taken.
